| I get personal attention and correction from the coaches which I found lacking at other clubs. | |
| Trying to manage three sports at once is the key. Mastering your primary sport is easy, but in Triathlon everyone has a weakness. There is so much skill, luck and perseverance required to train and compete in triathlon. | |
| Sprint, Supersprint or Aquathlons. The shorter and faster the better. | |
| Bribie Triathlon Series Race in 2008. I struggled even with the shorter race distance as I was returning from a back injury. | |

| 1. Have a race day checklist. Race day is stressful enough without forgetting things!
2. Scout the course before race day. Know where entries/exits will be and how far till turn around/s. I find it helps me pace and also motivate myself come race day. 3. Enjoy Race Day, It’s the reason you’ve had all those early starts :) |

| Starting off really hard and working to get in the front pack in an ocean swim, I got kicked in the stomach by a 19 year old open male which made me sick so I couldn’t finish the race. I probably would’ve been better to drop the ego and let the guys get past! | |
| Nundah Criterium Track- great for time trialling | |
| Look after my health first, training second.

| Amy Gillett- About a year after her passing, I was also recovering from a bike accident and drew great strength from her biography “Remembering Amy”. As a professional rower and cyclist she gave everything to achieve not only in sport but academically as well. She was the girl that never gave up and for anyone who reads this there are many lessons to be learnt, and was a great example on how to live your dreams.
Lance Armstrong- He is just the stuff legends are made of. He works hard, engages in critical thinking and also uses his profile to support others in need. |
