The club was recommended to me by someone I met at the pool. I gathered enough courage to go to one Saturday training session, found that it was very friendly and not too overwhelming and haven’t looked back.
I was seriously bored with the gym, enjoyed running and swimming and was looking for an excuse to buy a road bike.
Olympic because I don’t like sprinting. I find that the Olympic distances are manageable but still present a challenge.
I’ve only done one race (Mooloolaba 2009). The rain made things interesting! And the stomach bug I caught in the canal…
I’m equally bad at all three so enjoy them equally. This is why triathlon is perfect for me.
I always forget something: goggles or pull-buoy, running cap, water bottle, shirt..but I’m slowly getting better organised.
Mooloolaba next year. I find the time to train but I’m struggling to get time off on week-ends to go to races. Work gets in the way too.
I was quite happy with my time at Mooloolaba (but I can’t remember what it was).
None – I don’t really admire professional athletes.
