The club has a great friendly atmosphere which makes everyone feel at home and always brings the best out in athletes!
Definitely the challenge and discipline of the triathlon lifestyle, balancing training for three sports and all other aspects of life.
So far I have enjoyed the Sprint races the most. The challenge and thrill of Olympic makes it a contender but nothing beats putting your head down, clinging to the edge of your seat and going all out for an hour!
In high school, three squad mates and I set out to break the AIC 4x800m record. On a windy day at the UQ track, we were 3 seconds down by the end of the third leg. I was last and needless to say making the record time involved me running a 3 second p.b. We made the time by 0.3 seconds, but my lunch didn't stay down long.
Definitely the run. It all boils down to heart off the bike. Poor technique and you'll fall apart, incorrect pacing and you blow up and have a weak mind and you'll give up. Who ever has the most guts at the end of the day wins the race.
Relax and be patient. No one is above the process.
Not taking spare tire tubes to Byron Bay and hoping there wouldn't be an issue. I refuse to comment further.
I'd love to compete in triathlon at a respectable level, having a go at the U23 elites would be great.
2:03 at Noosa 2010.
AIC 800m champ
Jay Twist. He was a runner I trained with for a period with an extremely modest temperament. He is a man who trains with perfect consistency and always offers a hand to other runners, giving me countless lifts home. He is the definition of patience and modesty when it comes to sport. He never gets frustrated, annoyed or loses faith. He follows the process season after season and always produces amazing results!
