I needed somewhere to train and Vision was convenient and looked good
The challenge and the dynamics that come from completing 3 different sports in one race. Also, I like doing as many things as I can possibly squeeze into my life... taking up a sport which incorporates three in one made sense. Besides, I’d get bored training for just one sport!
Olympic
Noosa 2011...

Despite being determined not to end up in the medical tent attached to a drip for the second year running I collapsed with 100-200m to go and was hauled off to the medical tent yet again... Fortunately for me I have no recollection of it... only youtube...
I've always loved swimming but since getting a road bike I can't get enough of cycling either so I'm going to say it's too close to call!
Listen to your coach... you pay them to help you get the best out of yourself. Have a race plan and stick to it. Focus on what you are doing now, not how much is left. And most importantly don't forget to have fun!
Falling on top of my bike whilst trying to mount at Raby Bay... In the open wave... In front of the vision tent...
Coincidentally (I think not...) our next Saturday session consisted of many many MANY transition practices at Jindalee...
Boorolong road at home (Armidale)... It's a fast road with some good hills and great scenery (and no traffic)
Represent Australia at the U23 world champs and then elite world champs
Winning Kingscliff Olympic in 2:06
I competed in swimming, athletics and cross country at a state level at school.
The people I train with. Encouragement from other squad members at training and racing helps to keep me motivated and watching others push themselves inspires me to get the most out of myself.
