After a couple of half hearted goes at enticers I set my sights on Mooloolabar and quickly realised I needed some help to train properly. I knew Helen & James so came along with them.
Helen asked me if I wanted to do one with her and I thought "why not"?
I love that people of all shapes, sizes & ages get out there and give it a go. The atmosphere at races is amazing, everyone is buzzing, complete strangers cheer you on - the whole thing just makes you feel good about yourself.
Olympic. I suppose because it is somewhere in the middle. Not the little short ones, and not the way too long ones!
The aquathlon at Redcliffe. The conditions were tough, and I thought I had improved my fitness a lot, so it was really disheartening to struggle so much.
I like the swim because it is my best leg, but I actually like being out on the bike.
The first race I ever did was an enticer - I hadn't done ANY training and had not ridden a bike for 3 years. I felt every bump on that bike leg- ouch!
Under 3hrs for olympic distance. To race somewhere outside of south-east QLD. I want to get on a plane and go somewhere with my bike!
To get my body looking good enough, and feel confident to run in a bra top!
The sprint distance at Calypso Bay this year was the first race where I did the whole distance without stopping!
Noosa 2009 was definitely a PB.
I once got most improved in my Gaelic Football team
Probably my brother. He hasn’t let an accident and resulting disability get in the way of him achieving his goals in triathlon. For that matter, any athlete in any sport who competes with a disability is pretty amazing in my books.
