My last club has folded so was looking around in the same area and had spoken with Cath a few times around Somerville and thought the vibe was pretty good.
General all round fitness and the social buzz of being around like minded lunatics!
Half to Ironman
Gold Coast Half Ironman because i just have nothing good to say about the course. Boring and hot! It might sound strange but i found the Ironman i did in 2008 easier??
Have to say swim is the most enjoyable.
Look after your nutrition and always stick to your race plan!
Leaving my insulin out of my bike bag for the 2008 Busso Ironman and subsequently not being able to eat for around 2 hours until my blood sugar came down after having to stop at an aid station and get the officials to radio through to the start to get my insulin out of my run bag for me to pick up at the end of the first bike lap (60km). I guess I may have lost 20-30 minutes stuffing around.
I like the Redcliffe 95 km, anything around the Northern NSW hinterland though it's hilly and tough. Ewan Maddock dam down to Beerwah, inland to Peachester, Woddforde then back up through Cabboolture and up the Glass House mountains Road back to the start. around 115km, some good hills but great scenery in parts. Mt. Tamborine.
Another Ironman
Completing an Ironman.Had such a great day! Time wise...sorry I am built for comfort not speed!
Not particularly....loved playing cricket as a junior and was pretty good at that.
The fellow Clydesdales who tough it out every time we get out there and race/ train trying to keep up with the fireflies especially up the hills! Any athlete who has to overcome a physical or mental challenge to get where they are.
